Draft Notes...
Chad Ford has Speights going to us at 21 in his latest mock draft (released today). Halleluja! I don't know if this is because Speights is falling, or because other players are rising to overtake him, but I would be hella-excited if we take any one of the big men in the 20-30 range over Lee or any of the other swingmen available that low.
Besides Speights, Ibaka looks like a stud down the road and looks like he'll available at 21. He looks like Dwight, and plays like Dwight, but has range out to 18--so he could play with Dwight at the 4.
I hope Otis doesnt pick Lee or any other wing (unless its Rush), just because we have a need. Or even worse, pick a guard becaue Keyon might be bolting for free agency. Although his recent words about the issue do not sound promising. Backup points arent hard to find in FA. Heck, we might even resign Carlos at 2-3 mil a year in the worst case scenario. For whatever reason though, this draft has a lot of promising bigs--Speights, Hickson, Ibaka and even Ajinca and Jawai available at 20 and beyond.

I’m warming to the idea of drafting Speights … either him or Lee will suffice in my mind. Both guys would be great value picks at #22 … their projected PER are excellent …

Trade Rumors:
Orlando wants to deal J.J. Redick. New York Daily News
What are the chances of trading Redick to the Pacers, and where is that vague rumors stemming from?
The Pacers would be willing to trade our young SF/PF Shawne Williams for Redick straight up, or is there any possible interest from the Magic in Jamaal Tinsley who is also on the block?

I haven’t seen Williams play much, but if he’s a SF first, we don’t need him. If he can provide help at PF, I’d be more interested. I know that he’s had some character issues in Indianapolis, and I also know the Magic are loathe to employ anyone who isn’t squeaky clean. I don’t imagine Orlando has much interest in him.
Tinsley might be the least attractive player on the Pacers’ roster, when one takes his contract, health issues, and character issues into account. However, the Magic are on the record as saying they want size at PG, and Tinsley (6’3”) provides that… but not much of it.
If the Magic want to unload Redick, which I suspect they do, and if Indiana’s interested, the only player I’d want to take back in that deal (if I’m Orlando) is Jeff Foster.
